Dear Parents and Neighbours,
Brading Primary School: PSBP Refurbishment Works
I just wanted to drop you a short note advising that the Local Authority (Isle of Wight Council) are due to undertake some refurbishment & modernisation works to the school over the coming months. You will appreciate the need for continual modernisation and ongoing refurbishment so as to help the school in their quest to attain the best educational outcomes for pupils.
Below is a brief summary of the works that are due to take place:
- Temporary classroom block - replacing existing shelter
- Window & door replacement
- Roof replacement to the old School building
- Installation of new boilers, heating system and radiators
- Extension to staff room
- New lighting
- Full internal refurbishment of all areas
Subject to the final contract being awarded, it is anticipated that the work will begin in early April 2020 and are planned to be complete by January 2021. It is not envisaged that any major disruption will be caused within the local area and we will work with the contractor to ensure that parents and residents have a point of contact should any issues arise.
We had to cancel the drop-in session on Wednesday 1st April due to the current circumstances and advice received.
Please see the plans displayed on this web page and we will be available to answer any questions.
This is very exciting and positive news for the school, and I trust that this information is of use to you, but if you have any concerns in the meantime please do not hesitate to contact me.
