Friends of Brading

Who are we?

We are a group of parents/guardians who have children attending Brading Primary.

What do we do?

We get together and organise fundraising events for children at the school, and thereby provide extra activities to help make our children’s time at Brading the best it can be. It may be that the school needs help to raise funds for equipment, resources, outing’s or purely just for the fun factor. The meetings are informal with the opportunity to grab a coffee with some adult company!  If you are new to the area/school then it's a great way to meet others.

Who can become a 'Friend of Brading Primary'?

Absolutely anyone who has a connection with Brading Primary can become a 'Friend of Brading'. Mums, Dads, Guardians, Carers, Grandmas, Grandads – you are all welcome.

What do we do:

During the school year we aim to have the annual Christmas & Summer Fayres where we try to ensure there is a mix of stalls including a Raffle, Cakes, but also games for the children.  The Easter Egg hunt is always a treat for the children where everyone gets a chance to find pictures of Eggs hidden around the school, and of course receive an egg-shaped gift for their efforts.  We also try to hold a Disco during the year where the children are split into the two key stages and have a good “bop” and enjoy the “tuck shop”.

Future projects:

We use the money raised to fund equipment for After-school clubs. After-school clubs are FREE to the Brading school children and are run by staff members on a voluntary basis. All children are encouraged to take part in these varied activities to build their self-esteem and motivation at school.

If you want to be involved:

Check the newsletter for our next meeting, or ask in the office for more information.

It would be great to see some new faces and show your support for all the children at Brading, we look forward to seeing you soon.
