Introducing the
'Friends of Brading Primary'

Male Gardener

Who are we? We are a group of parents/guardians who have children attending Brading Primary.

What do we do? We get together and organise fundraising events for children at the school, and thereby provide extra activities to help make our children’s time at Brading the best it can be. It may be that the school needs help to raise funds for equipment, resources, outing’s or purely just for the fun factor. The meetings are informal with the opportunity to grab a coffee with some adult company!  If you are new to the area/school then it's a great way to meet others.

Who can become a 'Friend of Brading Primary'? Absolutely anyone who has a connection with Brading Primary can become a 'Friend of Brading'. Mums, Dads, Guardians, Carers, Grandmas, Grandads – you are all welcome.

What we have done in the last year: During the 16/17 school year we have produced a tote bag, which the children contributed to by drawing a face of themselves.  The annual Christmas & Summer Fayres continue to be a success, and we try to ensure there is a mix of stalls including a Raffle, Cakes, but also games for the children.  We did an Easter Egg hunt, for the second year, where the children each had to find pictures of Eggs around the school, and of course received an egg-shaped for their efforts.  Our Valentines Disco, was great fun and the children all had a good “bop” and enjoyed the “tuck shop”. These are just a few of the events the Friends of Brading have organised...

Future projects:We are using the money raised fund equipment for After-school clubs. After-school clubs are FREE to the Brading school children and are run by staff members on a voluntary basis. All children are encouraged to take part in these varied activities to build their self esteem and motivation at school.

If you want to be involved: Check the newsletter for our next meeting, or ask in the office for more information.

It would be great to see some new faces and show your support for all the children at Brading, we look forward to seeing you soon.
