Antigua Class

Welcome to Antigua!

We are so excited to say we have been pioneers on the Isle of Wight to become an all through 2-11 years provision, where the children from the age of 2 are taught and overseen by a qualified teacher.  EYFS consists of children from 2-5 years and their teacher is Miss Scholes, alongside preschool leads Miss Horrigan and Miss Bayliss. They are both supported by Miss Earley.

At Brading, we have one main aim for our Early Years provision: to provide a safe and secure environment for the children where they can develop emotionally, physically, and intellectually as part of a team that trust each other.

We recognise that for any parent or carer, choosing the very best environment is of paramount importance. Therefore, we are delighted to offer an interlinked Early years provision that provides a safe and stimulating environment, so the children can reach their full potential and more.

At Brading, we understand that the needs of each child and each family can be different, and we are proud to offer a flexible Early Years facility which has been designed to provide and individually tailored approach for you and your child’s needs. We have a trained and dedicated team of staff committed to offering a wide range of opportunities for every child.

The topics this year across EYFS will reflect the children’s interests but we will begin with ‘All About Me’ and ‘Traditional Tales’. Across the year we will be exploring space, safari, minibeasts, pirates and lots more!

Please see the newsletter below for updates about Early Years, the topic plans on the big picture and medium-term plans and long-term plans. All plans can be adjusted and flexible to child’s needs and interests.
